Welcome to Mind Sparkle Series MSS where I am conducting a series of motivational and theme based lectures, Panel Discussions, Workshops etc on online platforms with expert individuals from all walks of life. 


The idea of the program is to prepare the students, professionals etc for the future career and progress. This Mind Sparkle Series MSS is concieved and planned by Shahnawaz Qasim, IPS 

The aim of Mind Sparkle Series MSS  is to provide inspiration, motivation and encouragement to uplift your life to a new level. The ideas, concepts and knowledge we would discuss will act as a catalyst for your change. We believe that positive changes are foundation stones towards societal change. It is the drop that ultimately create the sea.

About the Speaker

Prof Afroz Alam is presently working as Professor and Head, Department of Political Science at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad. He is also the Director of Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP), MANUU, Hyderabad. He is a Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University He has authored more than 30 research articles and 4 books. 'In the Name of Muslims: Religion and Politics in North India' is his forthcoming book with Routledge and 'Demicratic Deficit and Minor Political Parties' is his forthcoming book with Cambridge University Press. He is editing the book 'Electoral Politics in Contemporary India' to be published by Orient BlackSwan.

He is a columnist and regularly writes opinion pieces in the newspapers of repute like Deccan Herald, The Tribune, New Indian Express, Times of India, The Statesman, Asian Age and so on. He has worked with Lokniti-CSDS, New Delhi and supervised many National Election Studies in UP. He is the emerging Psephologist in India. He has received Shah Waliullah Award 2009 jointly with Prof. Faizan Mustafa. 

Previously, he served at Aligarh Muslim University, KIIT Law School and National Law University Odisha (NLUO). He has been the Registrar of NLUO; and Director of Public Policy and Governance, Cuttack. 

This Lecture is followed by a Q & A session where Prof Afroz Alam answers the questions from the audience. This is intellectually stimulating and covers wide area of interests for everybody

The Carthaginians had a running generational feud with the Romans Hannibal's father was defeated by the Romans in the war. Hannibal vowed never to be the friend of the Romans. He kept his promise till his last The Great March of Hannibal  The march of Hannibal (218 BC) from today's Spain via France by crossing the Alps to reach nearby Rome is unprecedented in military history. He marched with elephants & huge troops which is unbelievable even today. This march is still taught in military tactics Never has any General marched so long to honor his father's promise. He waited for Roman army to come out & fight the open battle (2nd Punic War). But the Romans never did it They fought small skirmishes.
